Irresistible Tale from the Past
Helen Keller's true life story comes to life once more on stage at Lamp-Lite in a stirring battle of wills. Amy Maurer portrays Annie Sullivan, the strong willed young Irish woman from Boston, who struggles with a wild young child, Helen, whose blindness and deafness hide a brilliant mind. Shelby Toner and Reagan Brasher alternate in the role of Helen. Exciting combat, refreshing humor, and heartfelt emotion make the play a lasting classic. Anne Bancroft and Patty Duke first starred in the New York production in 1959. The show ran until 1961 in New York and was produced by Lamp-Lite in the Parish Hall at Christ Episcopal Church in 1972. Sharon and Garland Buffalo, Linda Pilapil, Charisse Champagne and Tyler Arnold play major roles. A number of children and others round out the cast.
