Summer Heat in March

Kim Novak and William Holden teamed to make the silver screen sizzle, and Rosalind Russell won the Acadamy Award for Best Supporting Actress in the 1956 film version of William Inge's Pulitzer Prize winning play. Picnic played for two seasons on Broadway, opening in 1953. Since then, professionals and amateurs have constantly brought back the gripping tale of the virile and charming Hal, who drifts into a small town and stirs up a storm of emotions in the lives of four women.

John Hudec (Bill Sykes in Oliver!) plays Hal; Katy Peppard is Madge. Jody Ryan, Kim Cross, Garland Buffalo, Beth Sensabaugh, Justin Hughes, Linda Pilapil, Lou Ann Dean, Megan Farrish, Jacob Barnhill, and Tyler Arnold complete the cast. Lamp-Lite first presented Picnic in 1980.
